Recycling as a Business in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement

Care International in Uganda contracted Ecoplastile to train refugees on plastic recycling and collection as a business. Over 3 months, they exceeded their target, training 306 people and creating over 100 green jobs.

The project collected over 46 tons of plastic waste, which resulted in over 17 million Ugandan shillings paid out to waste pickers and producers as an alternative source of income.
